Work in pairs / small groups for all activities Look at the letter from Ellen Ma. See here for a copy of the letter & Adjustment Letter Structure and Language


1. Look at the letter from Ellen Ma. What is she complaining about? What are the possible causes? What are the possible solutions?

Go to Voxopop. For one of the problems stated in the letter, outline the causes and your solutions.

2. Open a New Page called Estate by [ your names ] Add your names as tags (separated by a comma).

You have three things to write; an email to your friend and colleague asking for advice; an email to your boss outlining the problem and suggesting solutions; and an adjustment letter to Ellen Ma.

Guidelines

  • Vary the tone between the two emails and the letter. Use different vocabulary and sentence structures
  • Think about whether you will accept or reject the complaints
  • Think about organisation, especially in the second email
  • Be positive in the letter
